As we prepare for the upcoming ice storm for our area, SERVPRO of Orangeburg would like to share some of our tips on how to best prepare for extreme weather conditions;

• Protect your employees, Design safe evacuation procedures
• Protect your physical property,  Utilize surge protectors, storm shutters, and tarps
• Secure records and data, perform digital backups
• Communicate with workers and customers, in the event of a power outage communication can be lost, for backup electrical power consider a gas generator
• Apply for assistance from state and federal agencies, FEMA, Federal Emergency Management Agency, is the main federal resource in providing relief
• Create an emergency plan, schedule regular drills to test effectiveness
