The quiet halls of SC State College were disrupted recently by an electrical wiring fire in the women's bathroom. While such incidents can leave a trail of damage and disruption, the swift action of SERVPRO has been pivotal in ensuring that normalcy returns to this educational institution. Prior to starting, asbestos testing was conducted due to potential ceiling damage, while the college safely stored legal documents and artwork. Using chemical sponges, SERVPRO cleaned the structure to minimize the need for repainting, and meticulously cleaned contents in place, including appliances and electronics. Both porous and non-porous surfaces were thoroughly cleaned throughout the building. Coordination with the adjuster ensured seamless sub-contracting of duct cleaning, scheduled to begin after SERVPRO's completion. Finally, a fogging treatment was applied to eliminate odors, concluding a comprehensive restoration effort to return SC State College to normalcy promptly. The fire at SC State College presented a challenging situation, but thanks to the swift and efficient response of SERVPRO, the damage has been mitigated, and the path to recovery is clear. By employing advanced cleaning techniques, careful coordination with stakeholders, and a commitment to thoroughness, SERVPRO has ensured that SC State College can soon resume its vital educational activities without the lingering effects of the fire. Their dedication serves as a testament to the importance of professional fire restoration services in restoring order after unexpected disasters.

Orangeburg Municipal Airport

Dealing with fire damages are stressful and scary. There are two things I recommend doing when dealing with a situation like this. First call 911. Next , call SERVPRO of Orangeburg. That is just what Orangeburg Municipal Airport did. The ice maker in there break room caused a fire. This was an electrical fire , which is a class C fire. This fire spread to the office next door into the office. So our professional team of production technicians loaded there trucks and started the job. We had to do demolition inside the break room and office. We took the ceilings, floors and walls out. There was some contents affected. So we took them outside and cleaned them. Also we took the cabinets and counter outside to be cleaned. Once everything was cleared out we sealed for odor and we ozone and fogged the affected areas. We then put all contents back that was salvageable . All debris was taken back to our facility to dump. Over all the customer was so impressed and satisfied with out service.

Water Supply Line

1/20/2023 (Permalink)

6 Common causes of water line damages

  • Poor installation of pipes
  • Freezing and thawing
  • Shifting soil under the surface
  • Changing Hydraulic dynamics
  • Wear and tear
  • Rodents and pest causes a mess

Also make sure that the person that installed your pipes did his job correct. If they wasn't paying to much attention your water lines could fail, or if they used substandard materials the lifespan of your water line could be negatively affected.

With freezing and thawing always make sure you leave your water dripping in your residence or commercial building during a storm. also another way to keep them from freezing is wrap your pipes up with a towel or old shirt.

Shifting of you water supply line is very rare but can happen at any point in time. The underground pipelines can get damaged by the moving tectonic plates, or sometimes the roots of trees move into unexpected places which will also cause a water damage.

I know your wondering what is hydraulics dynamics, well Hydraulics is the study of fluids whether in motion or at rest. Dynamics is the branch of mechanics concerned with the motion of bodies under the action of forces. So with that being said if the water line is hit with to much high pressure even for a short period of time it is likely to cause water damage.

Your pipes do get old after a period of time causing wear and tear. So eventually you will have to get them replaced.

Who likes rodents and pests? They causes messes in many ways and yep you guessed it they can even cause water damages. They can cause it if your water line is above or underground. they are known to chew thru anything from plastic to PVC or even metal pipes.

But you always know SERVPRO of Orangeburg will be on the way 24/7/365 we are only one call away  give us a call 803.536.1285

Covid 19 Sanitization

1/9/2023 (Permalink)

If one of your employees test positive for covid 19 call SERVPRO of Orangeburg, we will come and sanitize and disinfect your whole facility.

Upon arrival our crew will come set up the tent barrier to minimize germs coming in and out of the location. Then they all donned their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE.) All of this happens before the sanitation even begins.

Only after everything is set and the PPE is completely on every member of the crew does the actual sanitation begin. This includes using the fogger to spray a fine mist of sanitizer throughout the store, bathrooms and back rooms.

Then all touch points are wiped with a treated cloth. A touch point is anything that can be touched and includes cooler handles, debit machines, drink machines and anything else that may be touched by multiple parties.

Once completed, the crew then takes off all PPE in the safest manner (also called doffing). Finally the tent is taken down and a certified clean sticker is put in the window to ensure the staff and customers know that all measures have been taken to keep everyone safe.
