We Can Now Do Asbestos Testing

Asbestos has been widely used and continues to be used in construction as a strengthening and fire proofing material. It has been used in hundreds of products that are frequently referred to as Asbestos Containing Material or ACM.

Potential health effects from exposure to asbestos include mesothelioma, asbestosis, lung cancer, as well as various other types of cancer. Due to these health risks, when a corporate job comes in we are required to test suspicious materials that may contain asbestos.

Previously, we at SERVPRO of Orangeburg, outsourced asbestos testing. In the state of South Carolina asbestos testing has to be done by a licensed building inspector, which due to their availability to get to our job site could prolong the job. However, now that Andrew has taken the required courses and passed the examination, we can take the samples and send them off ourselves. This will help expedite the process and we will receive the results sooner, so the mitigation can begin quicker.
